The Somerset Health Promotion Team work with a range of agencies across the county to promote health. They provide specialist knowledge and skills to help people achieve a healthier lifestyle. Both national and local campaigns are co-ordinated and supported in liaison with the local communities.

Flu Vaccination - Who needs it? Why? When?
Every Autumn, a national campaign is run, offering influenza (flu) vaccination to protect people who are at risk of serious illness should they catch flu. This year this includes everyone who is 65 years old or older. The vaccinations are given by GPs and nurses, usually in doctors' surgeries.
