Performance Report                                                                                                                           1 April 2010 - 31 March 2011

NHS Somerset is committed to raising the standards of care delivered to patients and enhancing the patient’s experience of healthcare services, through the attainment of national quality standards and service targets. The Primary Care Trust has implemented a robust and integrated performance framework to monitor progress against the key targets and objectives, across the breadth of its responsibilities.

The NHS Somerset performance management framework aims to:

  • reflect the Primary Care Trust’s key priorities

  • ensure that effective monitoring and reporting mechanisms are in place across the whole of the organisation

  • ensure that directorates have ownership of, and are accountable for, their targets

  • ensure that action is being undertaken, where necessary, to address any areas of underperformance

  • ensure that performance frameworks are included as an integral part of Primary Care Trust business cases and project plans
